* Oral Performance on 10/22 (월):

• How long it has been since you came to Bloomington
• How long it has been since you moved to the current place from the one you had lived
• Why you moved; good and bad things about the old place and the new place
• Anything your current place needs; e.g., furniture; ask how to obtain it
• Your weekend plan
• Things you need for the weekend plan, but you don't know how to get it or how to get it done

It is important to use as many patterns you have learned as possible, such as the following (not exhaustive):

• ~던: 전에 살던 기숙사/아파트
• ~었/았었-: 전에 살던 기숙사에서는 . . .~었/았었는데 . . .
• ~(으)ㄴ지 . . . 되다
• ~기 . . .~다: doing laundry, commuting, grocery shopping
• ~(으)ㄴ/는 편이다: rent, size of rooms, furniture, cleanness, how often cleaning the place
• ~(으)려고 하다, ~(으)려면
• ~(으)ㄴ/는/(으)ㄹ지 알다/모르다
• Feel free to use: ~잖아요 (for an obvious reason), ~거든요 (for a sensible reason), ~기 때문에 (for a logical reason), ~어서/아서 (for a natural sequence/consequence), ~(으)니까 (a rhetorical reason/justification/rationale for an argument/insistence)

10/29 (월):

• The Chapter Quiz on Lesson 5:

  • Go over the questions we covered, particularly recording assignment questions and 126#H, as well as WB125-6#G.
  • Go over the various uses of indirect questions: Indirect Questions
  • Make sure you are able to identify and describe in Korean those specialized stores in Korea. Also see WB115#C.
  • Make sure to be able to describe characteristics of 하숙집, 원룸, 온돌방, as described in conversations and the narration in the textbook.
  • The best way to prepare is to get yourself famililar with the content of the main texts (Conv. 1, Conv. 2, and Narration).
